Eating Disorders

Anorexia Nervosa
Bulimia Nervosa
Obesity

Do you eat when you aren't hungry because you feel upset or to punish yourself or make yourself feel better?

Do you fast because you think you are fat?

Do you go on eating binges and then make yourself vomit?

Do you constantly assess your weight and body image?

Does any of this sound familiar? If you have ever felt like this, you may have an eating disorder. But you are not alone-and there is real and lasting help available to you with our three main approaches - the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), the Sedona Method, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). These approaches are powerful tools for letting go of the underlying causes of eating disorders.

Recognizing the three main types of eating disorders

Compulsive overeaters
are people who use food inappropriately and eventually becoming addicted to it, losing control over the amount of food they eat. Overeaters demonstrate uncontrollable binge eating without extreme weight control and see that behavior as normal. Overeaters range from moderate to severe obesity, with an average binge eater being 60% overweight. Bingeing episodes consist of carbohydrates and junk food with most binges done in scheduled secrecy.

Anorexia Nervosa is characterized by an intense fear of gaining weight. Behavior includes excessive weighing, excessive measuring of body parts, and persistently using a mirror to check body size. Self-esteem is dependent upon body shape and weight. Weight loss is viewed as an impressive achievement and an example of extraordinary self-discipline. Unfortunately, many people with this condition risk seriously damaging their long-term health.

Physical implications may include disruption of the menstrual cycle, signs of starvation, thinning hair or hair loss, feelings of being bloated, yellowish palms/soles of feet, and dry, pasty skin, and eventually damage to internal organs and death.

Bulimia Nervosa is described as binge eating and compensatory behavior to prevent weight gain. Individuals become ashamed of their eating behavior and attempt to conceal symptoms through rapid consumption of food and secretive purging. They will eat until painfully full and stop if intruded upon.

80-90% of bulimics will induce vomiting. Other behaviors include, misuse of laxatives, fasting and excessive exercise.

Physical implications can include the loss of dental enamel and increase of cavities from acid reflux, swollen saliva glands, an irregular menstrual cycle, fluid and electrolyte disturbance and eventually damage to the heart and kidney and other organs.

Feel your compulsion to binge, purge or starve yourself dissolve on the spot.
When you get a feeling that you need to eat excessively, vomit or fast to control yourself or your weight, simply apply the simple approaches we will teach you during sessions (and afterward by yourself) and feel the urges dissolve. You will feel the urgency and tightness leaving your stomach, shoulders and chest. In its place, you will feel ease, relaxation and confidence. You will no longer be the out-of-control victim of your emotional drives or your eating disorder.

Feeling more relaxed, you will be capable of handling whatever life throws at you more easily. The noise of your mind will subside, and you will have the clarity of mind to say and do what is appropriate and natural in order to master any life situation, including the bad habits and addictive behavior that used to plague you.

You don't have to struggle to break free of addictions anymore.

Both anorexia and bulimia are addictive and unhealthy behavioral disorders. Although classes, support groups, counseling and therapy do seem to work in helping you move in the direction of breaking your addiction, you will find there is are better ways. We will show you how to rid yourself of the inner cause of any unwanted behavior. Both EFT and the Sedona Method are unique, elegantly powerful and complete systems on their own that can also be used to get more out of any other situation in your life.

Let's examine your alternatives for eating:

I. You can attend a class
.

By employing various mental techniques, classes for breaking habits attempt to help you to see from a different point of view the situations that have caused your habits and then work to help you change your thinking processes. This can be helpful; however, mental techniques often only mask the true cause of your losing control of your behavior. Most people are unable to maintain these temporary benefits in controlling their eating disorder.

II. You can see a counselor.

Seeing a counselor definitely has its benefits. A counselor can sometimes help you to identify the situations that have caused you to lose control and then help you to change your thinking processes. But they can't always easily help you eliminate the inner cause. Also, the process can be uncomfortable and embarrassing.

III. You can attend a recovery support group.

Attending a recovery support group can be very supportive in breaking your food addiction, but there are drawbacks. Support groups often require you to follow very strict rules and regulations. They also require very long, sometimes lifelong, commitments to attendance and participation. In addition, many support groups are forced to operate in secrecy due to the stigma attached to attending them.

IV. You can get conventional therapy.

Next to EFT and the Sedona Method, therapy has the highest likelihood of producing a lasting change in your relationship with your destructive behaviors. However, therapy alone can be a long, costly process.

V. Your key to going beyond managing your eating disorder

The scientifically proven Sedona Method and the many reports from EFT practitioners (doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists) show that these processes are elegant, easy-to-learn, do-it-yourself approaches that will show you how to tap your natural ability to let go of any negative thought or feeling on the spot-including all forms addiction and eating disorders. They can be used in life to get immediate relief from the effects of addictive behaviors whenever you feel you are losing control.

EFT especially also helps you to easily break the patterns of thought and behavior that cause this form of self-sabotage to reoccur. As you tap into your natural ability to release, you'll find that you can let go of whatever it is that is causing you to do things that you later regret.
